A Modern Dental Office with Everything Your Smile Needs
Dix Hills Family Dentistry is committed to offering comprehensive care. You can see that in the wide range of services we offer, but also with the technology we’ve chosen to implement. When you come to our practice, you’ll be treated with some of the most advanced instruments available. We can also offer advice on at-home care, including the best toothbrush and toothpaste to use.
CT/ Cone Beam Scanner
Our KaVo OP3D cone beam scanner gives our team a complete three-dimensional view of your teeth, jaw, sinuses, and surrounding oral structures, all in a single scan. This level of detail allows us to plan treatments like dental implants and tooth extractions with exceptional precision, reducing guesswork and leading to improved treatment outcomes.
Intraoral Camera
Our Dexcam intraoral camera is a small, pen-sized device that captures high-definition images inside your mouth in real time. We can display these images to you on a nearby screen so you can see exactly what we see during your appointment. It's a simple tool that makes communication clearer and helps you feel confident in every treatment decision!
Digital X-Rays
When one of our dentists performs a full oral exam, they’re closely inspecting your smile for any signs of gum disease, tooth decay, and a range of other very common issues. A traditional exam can only reveal so much. That’s why we also rely on state-of-the-art digital X-rays. With the clear, detailed images we can capture, our team is able to more accurately diagnose patient needs.
While traditional radiography reveals a lot about your smile, the images produced with digital radiography are clearer. What’s more, patients are exposed to up to 80% less radiation. The process is also safer for our team because we don’t have to rely on harmful chemicals to develop the results. Instead, they can be viewed immediately on a nearby monitor for you to review with one of our dentists. Last but not least, we can easily save your X-rays to our computer instead of needing a physical storage space.
Digital Panoramic X-Ray Machine
There are a number of procedures that our team performs in the office that necessitate seeing more than what’s visible to the naked eye, or even on a standard digital X-ray. For these instances, we use a digital panoramic X-ray machine, or digital pan for short. The image created provides detailed information that is critical for treatment planning. We are also able to see the development of permanent teeth in children’s mouths.
Digital Impression System
Gone are the days of uncomfortable and messy physical impressions! Our Medit I900 digital scanner captures a precise 3D model of your teeth in just minutes, which we can then use to design crowns and other types of restorations or appliances. The result is a faster, more comfortable experience for you and a solution that fits with remarkable accuracy.
Soft Tissue Laser
Our soft tissue laser allows us to perform procedures such as gum disease treatment with greater comfort and precision than traditional methods. By targeting only the affected tissue, the laser minimizes pain and bleeding, reduces the risk of infection, and promotes faster healing, making it an excellent option for those with dental anxiety.
Nitrous Oxide Sedation
Nitrous oxide sedation provides a simple, effective way of reducing anxiety. Also known as laughing gas, nitrous oxide is breathed in through a nasal mask and goes to work quickly, creating a sense of peace and relaxation. Once the mask is removed, its effects will begin to fade. Within minutes, you’ll be able to return to your normal activities with a healthier, happier smile.
