Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Gaur decided to become a dentist during college, after seeing firsthand how a compassionate, skilled clinician can transform a patient’s life. Dentistry allows him to pair his technical affinity for hands-on work with his love for community service. Nothing is more rewarding than helping a patient regain their confidence, knowing that a healthy smile can truly change how someone sees themselves.
What Kind of Dental Training Do You Have?
Dr. Gaur attended Binghamton University for his undergraduate studies before going to New Jersey Dental School (now Rutgers School of Dental Medicine), where he graduated in 2006 with his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry. He then went on to complete a general dental residency program at Jamaica Hospital.
Since 2020, Dr. Gaur has completed a 3-year post-graduate program on surgical and prosthetic treatment, an implant continuum course and seminars, as well as a live patient implant placement program. He has now been practicing throughout Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx, and Long Island for the past 20 years.
What Do You Like to Do Outside of the Dental Office?
Dr. Gaur is the proud husband of Dr. Shubha Soni-Gaur, who is the pediatric dentist at Dix Hills Family Dentistry. Together, they have three children, including their two sons and one daughter. In his free time, he enjoys fitness, watching New York sports teams break his heart every season, and golfing.
One interesting fact about Dr. Gaur is that he’s always been drawn to how things work behind the scenes. He’s a big believer that the right technology can solve any problem, so he spends much of his free time exploring the latest in home automation and digital tools. It’s the same drive for better, faster, and more reliable solutions that pushes him to keep the practice at the forefront of dentistry.
